Smoke of Satan Has Entered the Church

Back in 2006 I had heard this, but researching I could find no sources in English which confirmed this - so I continued my research and I found the statement on the Vatican website!  Yes, it is true, Bl. Pope Paul VI clearly states this in a letter (which to my knowledge officially still only exists in Italian) on June 29, 1972 that "through some small fissure, the smoke of Satan has entered the Church."  Here is the link to my 2006 posting:  http://cathapol.blogspot.com/2006/06/did-pope-say-smoke-of-satan-has.html

Here is the link to the official letter on the Vatican website:   http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/paul_vi/homilies/1972/documents/hf_p-vi_hom_19720629_it.html  (again, that document is in Italian).

What is this "smoke of Satan" which Bl. Pope Paul VI spoke of?  I added a comment to my earlier posting, but feel free to comment further here.

Clearing the Smoke of Satan?

It appears there will be several changes to the Catholic liturgy! These changes will take time to impliment. We probably won't see any for up to a couple years, but some of them seem to be well motivated and moving in the right direction.

Does anyone have a list of all the changes being proposed?

A few I've heard of:

"Credo" will be properly translated to "I believe" ("We believe," if I am conjugating correctly, would be "credomus").

"Et cum spiritu tuo" will be properly translated to "And with your spirit" (not "and also with you").

More Latin will be used.

More Gregorian chant will be used.

Several bishops argued to get "and for all" put back to "and for many" (at the consecration of the wine into the Blood of Christ), but (for now) that has been shot down.

Thoughts??

Did the Pope Say the Smoke of Satan has Entered the Church?

It's only in Italian on the Vatican website, but it's definitely there and Pope Paul VI said it:
http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/paul_vi/homilies/1972/documents/hf_p-vi_hom_19720629_it.html
(or click here)

In this document, you will find the words: «da qualche fessura sia entrato il fumo di Satana nel tempio di Dio». I'm no "expert" in Italian, but "il fumo di Satana nel tempio di Dio" IS translated to "the smoke of Satan in the Temple of God." I hope this helps.

Here's a little more:
da qualche fessura sia entrato il fumo di Satana nel tempio di Dio

Using the "babelfish" interpretor through Altavista.com this is translated to: from some fissure the smoke of Satana in the tempio has entered of God We can see this as "from some fissure, the smoke of Satan has entered the Temple of God."

Comments anyone?
