Ellen White and James White are consider the "co-founders" on the SDA's own website. The SDA movement sprang from a Methodist movement, specifically the Millerite movement so named for William Miller who had predicted the return of Jesus Christ on October 22, 1844. Of course He did not physically return on that date - but the remnants of the Millerites, Ellen Harmon (later White) stated that the date was accurate, but it was not a physical return, rather it was the beginning of the "last phase of (H)is atoning ministry in the heavenly sanctuary. It was Harmon-White's "prophetic" word which galvanized the SDA movement.

Would you agree with this part of the timeline now?

In JMJ,
Scott<<< (aka: CathApol)
CathApolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11555309542380876999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3866611.post-78048399288009856032019-06-13T18:59:06.522-07:002019-06-13T18:59:06.522-07:00Very nice list, though I'm not sure how accura...Very nice list, though I'm not sure how accurate it is with some of those, especially SDA, as Ellen G White was one of the founders, but not the actual person to start it.
keturahskorner.blogspot.comKeturah Lambhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05041749245034077912noreply@blogger.com
